If you’re on Instagram or X (rip Twitter), I’m sure you remember how the whole stories/homepage was blowing up with people sharing their Spotify Wrapped.

Every application or subscription service we use began copying Spotify (or it was Spotify that copied from a lesser-known one in the first place, idk).

I don’t know about the others but I think these 2 are good enough to claim other companies are copying this campaign.

What is their purpose?

The reason is obvious, it’s a great way to promote your brand, making the users do the marketing for you. Spotify’s wrapped campaign is a great success. Just by typing “Spotify wrapped success” on Google, you’d come across numerous posts explaining “why marketers should take wrapped as an example” etc.
