What is Anxiety? Why Do We Feel Anxious? A Simple Analogy

According to Jacques Lacan (French psychoanalyst and philosopher), anxiety is a feeling like dread. More precisely, an expectant dread. He was particularly interested in anxiety and talked about it for an entire year (Seminar X). However, it was during Seminar IX he came up with the analogy I’m going to tell today.
